Elevo Group is in 1st place in the Category of Roads and Hydraulic Works in the Innovation in Construction Awards 2014
2014-04-13 Elevo Group won 1st place in the Innovation in Construction Awards 2014 in the Category of Roads and Hydraulic Works with the bituminous mixture project called Reciphalt-50/ECO-R ®.
This mixture presents itself as an innovative product in the market of road paving once it responds fully to the pillars of sustainability required by the sector and society in general. As part of a broader project QREN, which is entitled "Energy Efficiency and Environmental of Bituminous Mixtures and Reduction of Greenhouse Gases", MonteAdriano along with the University of Minho developed an innovative tar mixture that is intended to be applied in layered wear and binding flooring. The Reciphalt-50/ECO-R ® is based on an AC14 conventional mixture bin / surf 35/50 (BB) and it is innovative due to the incorporation of a high amount of milled material (50% of final mixture). It is also distinctive due to the fact that it uses a rejuvenating additive for the first time, which, besides recovering the elastic properties of aged bitumen present in the milled material, giving the mixture a better workability, it also has a vegetal origin, contributing thus to its sustainability. For the production of this mixture a last generation discontinuous bituminous central was acquired.
The ceremony took place on April 10th at Microsoft headquarters in Lisbon and the General Director of the Technical and Innovation Department, Eng. Paulo Fonseca, attended it on behalf of the Group.
This award is the recognition of the innovation quality developed by Elevo Group and its continuous effort to achieve better performances.
