ELEVO Group was adjudicated the contract of the works to modernise the Milange-Mocuba corridor, in Zambezia Province in Mozambique.

The main works include the rehabilitation of the section of the N11 between the border of Malawi, and the village of Milange General (47 km) and rural roads R650 between Coromana and Zalimba and R649 between Zalimba and Majaua (110 km).

The works also include clearing and stripping works, earthworks, paving, drainage, signage and safety, rehabilitation of a military bridge and construction of a bascule bridge in the Milange border.

The starting date of works is on 2nd June. This project was adjudicated by ANE-National Administration of Roads and should be ready within 24 months.

The second phase of the Milange / Mocuba road will create a corridor linking the provincial capital of Zambezia, Quelimane, and Mocuba Milange with benefits to the interland (Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe) that can benefit from easier trading for the port of Quelimane.
