Vasco da Gama Bridge
Inaugurated on 4 April 1998, the bridge connecting Montijo and Alcochete, on the southern bank, to Sacavém, on the northern bank, very close to the Parque das Nações, is the second-longest bridge in Europe, with its 17.2 km in length, 10 of which span the waters of the Tagus Estuary. Its span (bridge deck length) is 420 metres.
